The Engineering Council website holds an up to date list of 36 professional engineering institutions covering mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical and aeronautical engineering (to name just a few).

Education networks and directories for schools
STEMNET is the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Network provides information (aimed at teachers and industry) about the schemes and initiatives available to enhance and extend the key curriculum subjects of science, technology and mathematics, 'to influence more effectively the teaching of engineering related subjects'.
It also manages the Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) Programme. Ambassadors are individuals from a wide variety of STEM backgrounds, from all across the UK, who offer time, enthusiasm and expertise to inspire young people. Find out more.
